Data & Privacy
How your information is stored and processed
What stays on your device
Selfwork saves your session history and summaries in your browser’s local storage only. There is no Selfwork account and no Selfwork database that stores your journey in the cloud. Your saved sessions live on the device and browser where you use the app.
If you clear site data, use a different browser, or use another computer, you won’t see the same journey unless you move that data yourself. Back up anything important using your browser or OS tools if you need to.
What gets sent to the AI
When you chat or generate a session summary, your messages are sent from this app to an AI provider (Anthropic) so the model can reply. That happens over the app’s server (for example on Vercel), not directly from the browser to Anthropic, but the content of the conversation still reaches Anthropic’s systems for processing.
Recent session summaries may be included in the coach’s context so the conversation can stay coherent across sessions. Treat anything you type as information that leaves your device for AI processing, subject to Anthropic’s privacy policy.
Not medical care
Selfwork is a personal reflection and coaching-style tool, not a clinical service. It does not create a medical record and is not a substitute for professional mental health care.
Summary
- Stored on your device: saved sessions and summaries (browser local storage).
- Sent for AI: chat and summary requests, including relevant prior summaries for context.
- Not stored by Selfwork in the cloud as part of this prototype — beyond what hosting and AI providers do for their own operations.
